Supporting Our Local Schools

School funding levels have risen in recent years. However, the proportion of funding available for high needs education has not kept up. I have been campaigning hard for more Government funding, and will continue to apply pressure. 


Zac Congratulates the Winners of the Great Mortlake Bake-Off

Zac Goldsmith was asked to announce the winners at this year’s Great Mortlake Bake-Off.  Amateur bakers of all ages, including local primary school children, were invited to take part in the event at St Mary the Virgin Church in Mortlake.

Zac Visits Shooting Star Children’s Hospice

Zac visited Shooting Star House in Hampton, Middlesex, on the 11th May to meet with Karen Sugarman, Director of Fundraising Development at the Hospice and was hugely impressed by the local charity.

Barnes Literature Festival

I’m hugely excited that the Barnes Children’s Literature Festival is returning on the weekend of Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 May.

Fern Hill Students Visit Parliament

Fernhill Students from Year 6 visited Parliament throughout the week of the 19th February. They were taken around Parliament by guides and ended with a short film about the Suffragettes, followed by a discussion with Zac Goldsmith MP at the new Education Centre.

Schools Funding and Special Educational Needs

On the 15th January 2018 Zac met with Cllr Susan Chappell Head of Children’s services at Richmond Council, Charis Penfold from Achieving for Children, Alex Hardy from RUIL’s and Penny Hoffmann-Becking from the SEND Family Voices to discuss funding for Special Education Needs locally.
