Supporting Our Local Schools

School funding levels have risen in recent years. However, the proportion of funding available for high needs education has not kept up. I have been campaigning hard for more Government funding, and will continue to apply pressure. 


Putney High Visits Parliament

On Monday 30th April Lower 6th A-Level Politics pupils from Putney High School were welcomed by Zac Goldsmith at the Houses of Parliament for a Q&A session in the Macmillan Select Committee room. Many had never been inside Parliament before.

Zac Congratulates the Winners of the Great Mortlake Bake-Off

Zac Goldsmith was asked to announce the winners at this year’s Great Mortlake Bake-Off.  Amateur bakers of all ages, including local primary school children, were invited to take part in the event at St Mary the Virgin Church in Mortlake.

Zac Visits Shooting Star Children’s Hospice

Zac visited Shooting Star House in Hampton, Middlesex, on the 11th May to meet with Karen Sugarman, Director of Fundraising Development at the Hospice and was hugely impressed by the local charity.

Barnes Literature Festival

I’m hugely excited that the Barnes Children’s Literature Festival is returning on the weekend of Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 May.

German School Opens a New Sports Hall

Zac Goldsmith MP was invited to attend the official opening of a new sports centre at The German School in Ham.  The event was organised by the German Embassy.

Fern Hill Students Visit Parliament

Fernhill Students from Year 6 visited Parliament throughout the week of the 19th February. They were taken around Parliament by guides and ended with a short film about the Suffragettes, followed by a discussion with Zac Goldsmith MP at the new Education Centre.

Meeting at Thompson House School

Zac met with parents at Thompson House School on the 2nd February to discuss issues around road safety and air quality on Sheen Lane.
