Zac Goldsmith attended the Shooting Star Chase Christmas Fair and fundraiser on Friday 16th November at the Petersham Hotel.
Shooting Star Chase provides Hospice Care for young people, up to the age of 21, and supports families from diagnosis through to end of life care, and through bereavement. The support offered includes a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care for families living in London and Surrey.
The support the charity provides is free of charge to families and is available 365 days a year at their hospices: Shooting Star House in Hampton, and Christopher’s in Guildford. The charity provides Hospice services at home, day care, symptom management, end-of-life care, bereavement care and a comprehensive range of therapies and support groups for the whole family.
Zac said of the fundraiser: “Earlier this year I visited the Shooting Star Hospice and I was overwhelmed by the essential support this charity provides; creating a happy and supportive environment for children and their families. Shooting Star is a lifeline for so many families – providing much needed care and respite, which can make all the difference. The positive impact which Shooting Star can have, at times of great difficulty, cannot be overstated. Alongside all those who attended the fundraiser on Friday, I am in awe of Shooting Star’s efforts.”
