Invitation: Film screening on Thursday, 8th February 2018

Dear Resident,

This Thursday 8th February at 7pm, I am hosting a screening of the brilliant film Jaha’s Promise at Kingston Academy (Kingston Academy, Richmond Road, Kingston upon Thames, KT2 5PE) to mark International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation.

Jaha’s Promise follows FGM survivor Jaha Dukureh, named as one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in 2016, as she launches a campaign to end the practice of FGM in her homeland of the Gambia.

There are limited spaces at this event so please do RSVP to if you wish to attend and places will be reserved on a first-come, first serve basis.

After the Film we will be joined by leading anti-FGM campaigner Nimco Ali, who will take questions about her own inspiring work in London and Somaliland.

N/B This film contains some upsetting content and viewing is restricted to people over the age of 16.

Best wishes,

Zac Goldsmith MP
