Local Campaigns | Super Sewer The proposed ‘Super Sewer’ is designed to reduce the amount of sewage
overflowing into the River Thames. Every year up to 39 million tonnes of
untreated sewage flows into the river from London’s antiquated Victorian sewage
system. The new scheme will combine sewage overflows, channelling the
effluent into a new tunnel that flows underneath London to a processing plant
in Beckton.

| Protect Our Green Spaces The Government appears to be taking action to help local people protect the character of their area and empower councillors to stop inappropriate developments. The Department for Communities and Local Government has removed gardens from the definition of brownfield land in Planning Policy Statement 3, and has abolished national ‘density targets’.
| | | Latchmere House The Ministry of Justice annouced in August 2011 to close and sell HMP Latchmere House. We are looking at all the options, and will do all we can to ensure the best possible outcome for the community. |
| Support our Small Shops! Zac has established a community wide 'Support Our Small Shops' campaign.
|
| Schools Good quality schools which inspire local parents to send their children there shouldn’t be seen as a luxury. They are absolutely key for every community

getting together with the Greener upon Thames to help end the free
plastic bag culture that has caused so much damage, particularly to the
world's ocean life. |
| Airtrack Like most people, I
support improvements to public transport but BAA's proposed 'Airtrack
Scheme will cause mayhem locally, inreasing waiting times at our level
crossings by up to 5 minutes in the hour and dividing our community

| Richmond park car parking charges The Parks offer a rare opportunity for people to escape the hustle and bustle.
To introduce charges, with the inevitable parking wardens and pay machines would
have undermined that. Read about Zac's successful campaign to have the plans scrapped
