The Stag Brewery

The Stag Brewery is one of the most important sites coming up for redevelopment that this Borough has seen in a generation. It is also a major opportunity to build something beautiful, and which will be of genuine benefit to the community. It will affect not only Mortlake but also the surrounding areas.

The Conservatives have called on the Council to have Borough-wide consultation on the planning brief for the site, which will outline what can be built. The Council has so far refused even to consult everyone in the Mortlake area.

The fact that within 24 hours of launching an internet-petition calling on Richmond Council to consult the community, 1,000 Richmond residents had already signed up, shows us how much people care. 

Whatever is built will out live all of today's politicians, so it is crucial that the Council actually listens to local people. Simply asking a few interested Parties is not enough.
